October 2025 by Timothy Stauffer
Remembering Dennis Emley
I want to take a moment from all the busy-ness that consumes most of us and honor the memory of Dennis Emley — a valued friend and supporter of Heart of the City Mission Foundation. Dennis’s kindness, generosity, and steadfast dedication touched the lives of many, leaving a legacy that will be remembered for years to come.
A Life Dedicated to Compassion
Dennis Emley was known for his unwavering commitment to helping others. Whether offering a helping hand or a word of encouragement, Dennis embodied the spirit of service and compassion. His involvement with Heart of the City Mission Foundation goes back to the organization's formation in 2010. He went beyond mere support: he was a true advocate for the mission and those it serves.
His life was tragically lost on March 12, 2024, while snorkeling in the British Virgin Islands and enjoying “the trip of a lifetime.” The news of his passing deeply affected all who knew him and has left us with a big empty place in our hearts.
A Lasting Impact
Through his friendship and active participation, Dennis contributed to making our community stronger and more enjoyable for all. His legacy echoes in every life touched by the Foundation’s work. Though he is no longer with us, his memory continues to remind us of the duty to carry forward his example of Christian generosity and care.
With Gratitude
Heart of the City Mission Foundation extends our deepest appreciation for Dennis Emley’s friendship and support. We are grateful for the time, love, and energy he invested in our shared cause. Dennis’s memory inspires the hearts of those who knew him and the work that continues without him.
Rest in the hands of your Heavenly Father, Dennis. Thank you for being a cherished friend and steadfast advocate of Heart of the City Mission Foundation. Your legacy will always be remembered.
In loving memory,
Timothy Stauffer, Board Chair
